How and why I started my handmade business

Allow me to properly introduce myself!

Hello! My name is Toshira and I have wanted to start this, a business for a while now. I was sitting on my parents' couch in December of 2025, feeling lost, and equally underwhelmed and overwhelmed. I had been at my parents' house, away from Los Angeles, for almost two weeks, and it was almost time to head back. I did not want to leave but I also did not want to stay. By stay, I mean to stay in Oklahoma permanently. That is another discussion for a different blog! 

As I sat on the couch, scrolling Pinterest, I was like I can do that, I can make that work so I decided to play around with some designs in Canva to get my brand started. I opened the Notes app and brainstormed how to do this. 

In 2023, I learned how to sew after taking a two-hour class here in Los Angeles. The next week, I brought a barely used sewing machine on Facebook Marketplace, and the rest is history, as they say. 

I am pouring into this brand because I have to, I need to, and I want to!
